Pineapples 2012
I planted four pineapple plants yesterday. The plants that I planted about 3 months ago all died. I am trying to withhold water for the first week to allow the sugar part to dry out. At the end of the week, I will water them with miracle grow and hope for the best. In addition, I ordered two Kona Sugarloaf white pineapples today. I hear they taste even better than the yellow pineapples; but they don't ship well, so there not available in my neck of the woods.
Pineapples 2010
The flowers have moved to the top of the inflorescence. I guess this means that my little pineapples are moving past the flowering stage. They have been in the house for about a week now. It seems to have gotten colder outside as of late. The lows have been in the 40's; and for the next three days, the lows will plunge into the 30's. Too cold for my little bromeliads. I'll put them back outside Saturday coming when the low's are in the mid to upper 50's. I predict that my pineapples will be ready around the end of August up to some time in September. Will see.
